General Purpose
Present and sell insurance product to prospects via telephone, mail and walk-in clientele. Increase overall sales production through new marketing approaches and supportive customer service. Assess prospect's needs and tailor-make proposals to accommodate prospect's needs and budgetary concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilizes the list of prospective customers generated from the Telemarketing Department as sales leads, follow-up leads from ad inquiries, seminars, direct mail responses, aged leads, and other sources, in addition to personal lead generation
- Make outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone to qualify leads and sell products and services
- Overcome technical objections of prospective customers
- Emphasizes sellable features, quotes prices, and prepares sales information packets for potential sales
- Consistently tracks prospect follow-up and track current sales
- Builds and maintains customer relationships
- Continually build product knowledge
- Analyze general business periodicals and professional journals to keep current on industry trends
- Prepares business transaction reports
- Enters data into computer database
- Investigates and resolves customer problems
- Assists Marketing with trade-show product information and attend trade-show
- Conducts in-house seminars for various products
Peripheral Duties
- Provide feedback to other department as required.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- (A) Graduation from high school or GED equivalent with minimum three (3) to six (6) months related experience and/or training
- Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Windows-based program, Microsoft Office software, and desktop publishing programs are required
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment (cpu, fax)
- Establish effective working relationships with employees and supervisors; ability to work efficiently.
- Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Speak and write eloquently using proper English grammar and usage
Special Requirements
Must maintain current insurance agent's license. Must remain current with continuing education pertaining to the sale of insurance products.
